Charleston Home Tour

I am so excited to share this Charleston home tour today! This beautiful place belongs to Sarah-Hamlin Hastings, the talented lady behind Fritz Porter, and her beautiful family. For those of you not in Charleston, Fritz Porter is the unique Charleston retail concept that does the interior design work and sourcing for you. It’s nothing short of extraordinary, trust me. Let’s take a peek inside the curator’s home!

I originally fell in love with this home when I saw it in Charleston Magazine. The light and bright interior and family friendly outdoor spaces are stunning. Sarah-Hamlin Hastings purchased the home from her Grandmother and worked with architect David Baker (of McAlpine Tankersley) to help update the home for her family. Sarah-Hamlin also tapped her good friend Lisa Hilderbrand of Welhil Interiors to work with her on the interiors. It’s always hard to make design decisions for yourself, don’t you think? This painting in the photo below is by Elyssa Rundle (1934- 1994) and was purchased at John Pope Antiques.

This next detail is one of my most favorites in the home, Sarah-Hamlin draped white theatre draping fabric over the ceiling! It has the lit up appearance because there are skylights above it!

Love these drapes lining this sitting room!

The painting below is by Charleston artist Tim Hussey, a childhood friend of Sarah-Hamlin’s.

This is a painting of Sarah-Hamlin when she was 14 years old by Charleston artist Martha Thomas. I love this so much.

Mike Kaiser of Kaiser Trabue Landscape Architecture helped the Hastings with their backyard design. Exquisite.

The home is “U” shaped and was designed with many windows in the mind of beautiful views, including this courtyard fountain.

I spy a swurfer swing.

Now THAT’s a family home 🙂 Thank you to Julia Lynn for sharing these photos with us, and to Sarah-Hamlin Hastings for answering all of my questions! Be sure to stop into Fritz Porter in the newly renovated Cigar Factory here in Charleston to say “hi”!
